Swimming: Teong Tzen Wei finishes fifth in 50m freestyle final at 2022 Commonwealth Games

SINGAPORE: Swimmer Teong Tzen Wei finished fifth in the men's 50m freestyle final at the 2022 Commonwealth Games on Wednesday (Aug 3) night local time.
At the Sandwell Aquatics Centre in Birmingham, the Singaporean clocked a time of 22.26s.
The event was won by England’s Benjamin Proud in a time of 21.36s. Proud's compatriot Lewis Burras took silver (21.68s), while Canada's Joshua Liendo Edwards clinched bronze (22.02s).
Teong, who registered a time of 22.36s in the heats, ends this edition of the Games with one medal to his name.
Earlier in the Games, he took a silver in the men’s 50m butterfly final.
