Mysuru: Jayalakshmipuram police, who are investigating the assault complaint lodged against Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) vice-chancellor S Vidyashankar and KSOU special officer Devaraju by KSOU assistant registrar (examination) Pradeep Giri, has received a counter complaint from KSOU authority accusing the complainant of using inappropriate words.
A police officer said KSOU in-charge registrar Khader Pasha has given a complaint accusing Pradeep Giri of coming late to the office and inappropriately speaking to the VC. He urged legal action against Pradeep Giri. “We have treated it as a non-cognisable offence,” said a cop.
To a query, the officer said a probe is underway and declined to divulge any details.
Pasha didn’t respond to the calls.
Meanwhile, the VC has denied the charges and has accused Giri of not adhering to the office schedule. TNN
