Stock market update: Power stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading higher on Thursday at 11:05AM

Inox wind(up 3.18%), Jaiprakash Power Ventures(up 2.82%), Voltamp Transformers(up 2.66%), Adani Power(up 2.46%), Indowind Energy(up 2.10%), JSW Energy(up 2.10%), Kalpataru Power Transmission(up 2.01%), Suzlon Energy(up 1.41%), Transformers and Rectifiers(India)(up 1.27%) and KPI Green Energy(up 1.15%) were among the top gainers.

KEC International(down 4.32%), NTPC(down 2.04%), Orient Green Power Company(down 1.49%), Energy Development Company(down 1.18%), ADANIGREEN(down 1.16%), Adani Transmissions(down 0.53%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 0.45%), Reliance Power(down 0.38%), Tata Power Company(down 0.24%) and Inox Wind Energy(down 0.21%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 36.6 points up at 17424.75, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 101.65 points at 58452.18 at around 11:05AM.

Hindalco Industries(up 3.79%), JSW Steel(up 2.69%), Cipla(up 1.96%), Tata Steel(up 1.91%), Infosys(up 1.84%), Nestle India(up 1.52%), Divis Laboratories(up 1.3%), Enterprises(up 1.29%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 1.17%) and UltraTech Cement(up 1.02%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 2.49%), NTPC(down 2.07%), Coal India(down 1.37%), State Bank of India(down 1.24%), Reliance Industries(down 1.09%), Maruti Suzuki(down 0.77%), Bharti Airtel(down 0.56%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 0.47%), Titan Company Ltd(down 0.46%) and SBI Life(down 0.45%) were trading in the red.
