PATNA: The government on Wednesday announced selection of 9,322 health workers to be posted in health facilities and sub centres, mostly in remote areas of different districts.
“These health workers include 8,517 auxiliary nursing midwives (ANMs) and 579 counsellors. Their selection on the basis of educational qualification was made by a committee constituted by the State Health Society. Others selected for posting include 26 district community mobilizers, six clinical psychologists, four psychiatric social workers and 190 senior treatment supervisors,” health minister Mangal Pandey said.
Pandey said posting of these health workers would strengthen health sub-centres, numbering around 10,700 in the state, and also prove of great help to rural people who had to travel far for medical treatment.
Pandey said the health department has regularly been reviewing the strength of medical and paramedical staff in hospitals and availability of medicines and equipment for ensuring proper delivery of healthcare.
The health department has also advertised over 12,770 posts for appointment by Bihar Technical Service Commission for which the last date of sending application is September 2. These vacancies include nursing staff, x-ray technicians, operation theatre assistants and ECG technicians.
