Murder accused in 4 days police custody

Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada district police have managed to obtain custody of 27-year-old Shafiq, arrested in connection with the murder of Praveen Nettaru. Shafiq, from Bellare, has been remanded in police custody for the four days. Shafiq was arrested, along with 29-year-old Zakir of Savanoor, on July 28. Police have thus far arrested in connection with Nettaru’s murder. Police have, meanwhile, launched a search for the assailants. Nettaru, a BJP worker, was hacked to death in front of his broiler shop in Bellare by three individuals on July 26.
