THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala Institute of Local Administration (
KILA) has started providing training to officials of LSGs to prepare micro plans for improving the lives of 7,278 families that have been identified as the poorest in the district.
KILA started the training programme with the aim of eradicating extreme poverty by preparing comprehensive measures to help the poorest families by improving their living standards. The chairpersons and secretaries of various local bodies participated in the training and it was inaugurated by district panchayat president D Suresh Kumar.
The concerned departmental officers and resource persons will be trained in this regard at the panchayat association hall in the coming days, said Subhash Chandran, the facilitator of people’s planning in the district.
Vijayakumar, director of district poverty alleviation unit, and Binu Francis, district joint secretary of local self-government department, shared information on poverty eradication during the event. tnn
