NEW DELHI: Mining shares closed lower in the Thursday's session.
Pokarna(up 4.07%), NMDC Ltd(up 1.32%) and Madhav Marbles and Granites(up 0.54%) stood among the top gainers.
Dvpt Corporation(down 3.31%), Coal India(down 2.33%), KIOCL(down 1.97%), MOIL(down 1.95%), Aro Granite Industries(down 1.55%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(down 1.42%), Ashapura Minechem(down 1.24%), 20 Microns(down 0.36%) and Oriental Trimex(down 0.31%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 6.15 points down at 17382.0, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 51.73 points at 58298.8.
Cipla(up 3.23%), Nestle India(up 2.5%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 2.4%), Infosys(up 2.16%), Enterprises(up 1.99%), Hindalco Industries(up 1.8%), JSW Steel(up 1.77%), Divis Laboratories(up 1.76%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 1.26%) and Wipro(up 0.73%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, NTPC(down 3.1%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 2.89%), Coal India(down 2.33%), State Bank of India(down 1.41%), Reliance Industries(down 1.32%), Shree Cement(down 1.28%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.25%), Axis Bank(down 1.22%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 0.84%) and IndusInd Bank(down 0.77%) closed in the red.
