Independence Day preparations have started in most parts of the country, with citizens doing what they can to mark the 75th year of independence. Celebrities are not far behind in their preparations. Bollywood’s veteran and stalwart Amitabh Bachchan shared a new Independence Day anthem on his Twitter handle to mark the occasion. He shared a video of the anthem. In the clip, leading celebrities across the entertainment and sports industry can be seen.

The anthem is titled ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ and sees big names coming together to celebrate India’s independence. These names include the likes of Virat Kohli, Anushka Sharma, Akshay Kumar, Prabhas, Neeraj Chopra, Tiger Shroff and his father, Jackie Shroff, and Anupam Kher, MC Mary Kom, Mithali Raj and others besides Amitabh Bachchan himself. The song has been sung by Sonu Nigam and Asha Bhosle, while Big B himself has sung a small part.

The video shows people from all over India bringing the tricolour home and hoisting it with pride and honour. When sharing it on his Twitter handle, Amitabh Bachchan called the Tiranga his pride, soul, identity and everything. He called it an honour to have lent his voice for a cameo in the anthem. He urged his fans and followers to bring home the tricolour and hoist it immediately.

Besides the anthem, Har Ghar Tiranga is a national campaign under the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav initiative. It encourages Indians to hoist the tricolour in their homes to show respect to the Indian independence movement and to mark the 75th year of independence. The underlying idea is to arouse the feeling of patriotism among the masses and enhance awareness of Indian tricolour.

Backed by the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign aims to mark the auspicious day of the 75th independence year uniquely with the tricolour flying high in all homes.
