30-year-old constable commits suicide

Prayagraj: In a shocking incident, a 30-year-old constable identified as, Akash Kumar posted at reserve police lines committed suicide by shooting himself with his service weapon inside the campus of reserve police lines under limits of Colonelganj police station here on Wednesday evening. He was resident of Mathura. Deputy SP (Colonelganj) Ajeet Singh Chauhan told TOI police have been probing the case to find out the exact reason behind the suicide. Police said the constable was attached to reserve police lines on June 24 from Utrav police station due to remaining absent from duties. He was currently attached as gunner with a witness. On Wednesday evening, when cops present inside reserve police lines heard the sound of bullet, they rushed towards transportation wing of police line where the cop had shoot himself. He was immediately taken to SRN hospital where doctors declared him pronounced dead.TNN
