Stock market update: FMCG stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading higher on Thursday at 10:19AM

ADF Foods(up 5.63%), Future Consumer(up 2.78%), Varun Beverages(up 2.35%), Bajaj Consumer(up 1.19%), Nestle India(up 1.09%), Mrs Bectors Food Specialities(up 1.08%), Dangee Dums(up 1.06%), Parag Milk(up 0.77%), Vadilal Industries(up 0.66%) and Umang Dairies(up 0.63%) were among the top gainers.

TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 2.73%), Emami(down 0.63%), Zydus Wellness(down 0.45%), Gillette India(down 0.42%), Dabur India(down 0.41%), Hatsun Agro Product Ltd(down 0.39%), Britannia Industries(down 0.39%), P & G Hygiene(down 0.37%), Godrej Consumer Products(down 0.24%) and Dodla Dairy(down 0.17%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 58.3 points up at 17446.45, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 185.04 points at 58535.57 at around 10:19AM.

Hindalco Industries(up 3.4%), Infosys(up 1.96%), JSW Steel(up 1.56%), Cipla(up 1.29%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 1.08%), Tata Steel(up 1.03%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 1.01%), Wipro(up 0.94%), HCL Technologies(up 0.92%) and UltraTech Cement(up 0.88%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 2.77%), NTPC(down 1.28%), State Bank of India(down 0.88%), Reliance Industries(down 0.79%), Coal India(down 0.75%), Titan Company Ltd(down 0.56%), Bharti Airtel(down 0.56%), Britannia Industries(down 0.48%), Maruti Suzuki(down 0.38%) and SBI Life(down 0.22%) were trading in the red.
