Fake escort case: Seven held

Coimbatore: City police commissioner V Balakrishnan said seven more people, including five women, were arrested in the fake escort service case recently registered with the Peelamedu police. The search is on for the mastermind, Rizwan, who hails from Tuticorin district. With this, the number of people arrested so far in the case has gone up to 12.
Prasanna from Kannyakumari and Subash Chandran from Thoothukudi were among the seven arrested in the case on Wednesday.
The case was registered in June based on a complaint from an apartment resident from Sowripalayam Road. He complained that several men visited the apartment looking for girls. Police said a team functioning from Bengaluru lured customers through websites and used women to talk to them through video calls. They collected money from the customers online. TNN
