Maharashtra: 3 deaths, 524 recoveries in region on Wednesday

NAGPUR: Three Covid deaths, including two in Nagpur and one in Buldhana, took the Vidarbha toll to 21,975 on Wednesday. A 63-year-old man and a middle aged woman passed away in Nagpur in the day. Both the deceased were residents of Nagpur. The man was admitted to a private hospital on July 24 and passed away on August 2 following a heart attack. The woman was under treatment at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) while other details were not available.
Covid infection claimed the life of a 78-year-old woman in Buldhana district. She was under treatment in a hospital since July 26. The region also recorded 344 new cases and 524 recoveries leaving 2,613 patients under treatment. The new cases were detected from 6,416 tests in the last 24 hours.
Nagpur district reported 186 cases and 270 recoveries. Over 1,400 patients are under treatment in Nagpur now. Of these, 63 are in government and private hospitals while over 170 are in Covid Care Centres. Among the new cases, 127 were from the city and 59 from rural. A total of 175 patients recovered in Nagpur city and 95 in rural.
Buldhana reported just three new cases and 22 recoveries in the day. Wardha 5, Washim 4 and Akola 7 were the other districts to report cases in single-digits.
Bhandara, Gondia, Chandrapur, and Amravati districts continued to see a spike. However, the number of patients under treatment dropped below 100 in Gondia, Wardha, Akola, Amravati, Yavatmal and Buldhana.
