Section 144 imposed in Gurugram; ban on drones and kite flying till August 15

GURUGRAM: The use of drones, microlight aircraft, gliders, hot air balloons, kite flying and Chinese micro lights will be prohibited in the district till August 15. Besides, cyber cafes, PG houses and hotels will have to maintain records and identity documents of the visitors.
District administration on Wednesday issued a prohibitory order under Section 144 of CrPc in view of security threats leading to Independence Day. Police will conduct random checks in hotels and guest houses.
The city police had written to the administration about reports from intelligence agencies related to security threats in different parts of the country on the occasion of the Independence Day celebration.
“Keeping in view the security concerns, a direction has been issued to cyber cafe owners, paying guests, guest houses, hotels to keep a record of every visitor, tenants and also keep a photocopy of his/her identity. In addition to this, use of drones, microlight aircraft, gliders, hot air balloons, kite flying and Chinese Micro light will be banned in the district from August 3 to August 15,” said deputy commissioner Nishant Yadav.
Gurgaon being a satellite town of Delhi always remains under the radar before Independence Day, Republic Day and other such occasions.
Police have formed teams to keep an eye on the hotels, restaurants and guest houses of the city to keep a track of the movements of outsiders. Every team will have officers from local police stations, CID and the intelligence bureau. Teams will conduct random checking and conduct raids on the basis of specific intelligence inputs, special focus will be on foreign nationals staying in different guest houses and hotels.
The team will check for how long they are staying in Gurgaon and whether the guest house and hotel management have informed the police about their stay or not.
According to the norm, hotels and guest houses are required to maintain records of their customers. If the guests are foreigners, their details have to be provided to the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) within 24 hours of their arrival.Action will be taken against those found violating the rules.
