Chinese military choppers were seen flying past Pingtan island, a region in Fujian province close to Taiwan.
Angered by US official Nancy Pelosi's visit to Taiwan, which China claims as its own, Beijing has stepped up military exercises in regions around Taiwan.
It has also deployed two aircraft carriers to the north and south of Taiwan.

China's aircraft carrier Shandong (CV-17) left the naval base of Sanya on the day of Pelosi's visit, and Liaoning-001 also raised anchor from the home base in Qingdao.
Based on the positions of naval fleets, China is attempting to block the Taiwan Strait.
Meanwhile, the US has also deployed four of its warships to the east of Taiwan.
As tensions flare, Taiwan, an island roughly 100 miles from the coast of southeast China, is now effectively encircled by US and Chinese warships.
