Commonwealth Games, Day 7, Live Updates: Defending champion Manika Batra has entered the women's singles round of 16 with a dominating 4-0 win. Meanwhile, paddlers Sreeja Akula and Reeth Tennison also entered the women's singles round of 16 with wins in their respective matches. In badminton, Aakarshi Kashyap progressed to the women's singles round of 16. The Indian men's hockey team also had a good outing, with Harmanpreet Singh's hat-trick helping them register a 4-1 win over Wales in the Pool B match. The win saw them seal a spot in the semi-finals. Earlier, boxers Amit Panghal, Jaismine Lamboriya and Sagar Ahlawat assured India at least three bronze medals with wins in men's flyweight, women's lightweight and men's super heavyweight quarter-finals. Later in the evening, Rohit Tokas will be in action in the welterweight quarter-finals. If he can win his bout, it will be a perfect day in the ring for Indian boxers. In athletics, Hima Das has entered the semi-finals of women's 200m while Manju Bala entered the final of the women's hammer throw event. Shuttlers PV Sindhu and Kidambi Srikanth have won their respective badminton singles Round of 32 matches. The Indian contingent so far has won 18 medals in the ongoing Commonwealth Games, including five gold. On the seventh day of the ongoing event, stars like Dipika Pallikal (squash) will also be in action. Later on, Murali Sreeshankar will also be in action in the men's long jump finals. He is a prime contender for a medal as he qualified for the final with the best jump among all competitors in the qualifying round. In table tennis individual events, all top stars are playing.
