CSJMU students visit CBMR, Lucknow

Kanpur: The students and faculty from Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University (CSJMU), Kanpur visited the Centre for Bio-Medical Research (CBMR), Lucknow taking another step taking the MoU between the two institutes forward. The trip aimed to expose the CSJMU students to the research environment and infrastructure at CBMR, Lucknow and explore avenues of faculty collaboration between the two institutes.
CBMR, dedicated to disease-oriented-research and translational research including diagnostics and drug discovery, has excellent interdisciplinary research infrastructure like MRI, NMR, LC-MS, etc., so as to meet the biomedical challenges of the future.
The CSJMU media incharge Dr Vishal Sharma said, the visit opened up new ways for faculty and scientists at the two institutes to work together. Moreover, students of CSJMU, including of M Sc Biochemistry and M Sc Life Science and many research project fellows, got the opportunity to visit the labs. They were also given demonstrations and lectures on working of sophisticated instruments like NMR and LC-MS.
Director CBMR Prof Alok Dhawan and Prof Neeraj Sinha, Prof Saumen Hajra, and Dr Dinesh Kumar addressed the audience. Prof Rolee Sharma, Dr Gaurav Kumar, and Dr Soni Gupta from CSJMU also discussed their current research work. The current visit provided students with a valuable opportunity to learn about cutting-edge research areas and the faculties of two institutions in preparation for a potential research collaboration.
