Jabalpur: Rape accused out on bail gang-rapes survivor, makes video

JABALPUR: A 24-year-old youth who spent a year in jail for raping a minor and was out on bail gangraped the survivor with an accomplice in Jabalpur and took a video of it to pressure her into withdrawing the complaint, police said on Tuesday. The accused are on the run and police teams are out looking for them.
"The survivor, who is 19 now, had filed the first rape complaint in 2020 and the accused was arrested," Patan police station in charge Asif Iqbal said. He was in jail for a year on Pocso charges before he got bail.
"The survivor has filed another complaint that around a month ago, the accused barged into her house and raped her at knife point while his friend 34-year-old friend shot the crime on camera. After this, he began threatening her that he would upload the video on social media unless she withdrew the 2020 case," Iqbal said. Police have registered a fresh case and are looking for the duo.
