NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded negative around 10:55AM(IST)on Wednesday in a weak market.

Strides Pharma Science(up 3.04 per cent), Cipla(up 1.97 per cent), Pfizer(up 0.65 per cent), Granules India(up 0.63 per cent) and Torrent Pharmaceuticals(up 0.13 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Aurobindo Pharma(down 1.85 per cent), Natco Pharma(down 1.68 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(down 1.55 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 1.38 per cent) and Alkem Laboratories(down 1.1 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was down 0.38 per cent at 12731.8 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 83.9 points at 17261.55, while the BSE Sensex was down 231.57 points at 57904.79.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 11 were trading in the green, while 39 were in the red.

Shares of Zomato Ltd., YES Bank, , Tata Steel and were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of , , ., Party Cruisers Ltd. and hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Birla Tyres, Karda Const, SKP Bearing Industries Ltd., GSK Pharma and hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
