Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.61% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded negative around 11:00AM(IST)on Wednesday in a weak market.

Bandhan Bank(up 2.0 per cent) and State Bank of India(up 0.48 per cent) were among the top gainers.

IDFCBANK(down 2.53 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 1.99 per cent), Punjab National Bank(down 1.75 per cent), AU Small Finance Bank(down 1.68 per cent) and Federal Bank(down 1.49 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Bank index was down 0.61 per cent at 37793.85 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 83.9 points at 17261.55, while the BSE Sensex was down 232.56 points at 57903.8.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 12 were trading in the green, while 38 were in the red.

Shares of Zomato Ltd., YES Bank, , Tata Steel and were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of , , ., Party Cruisers Ltd. and hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while , , , SKP Bearing Industries Ltd. and GSK Pharma hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
