NEW DELHI: Amid gathering momentum for " “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign, home minster Amit Shah said that Prime Minister Modi' s initiative was meant to promote patriotism symbolised by the tricolour. Formally launching the campaign on the 146th birth anniversary of Pingali Venkayya, freedom fighter who designed the national flag, Shah said that that the "Tiranga" campaign was also meant to inspire citizens to dedicate themselves to the task of helping India become the global leader by 2047 when country would celebrate the 100th annivessary of independence.
“Since becoming Prime Minister, Narendra Modi ji has worked in such a way that the respect for Tiranga has grown globally. Even the world leadership waits for PM Modi’s views on global issues to take a conclusive decision. Our forefathers made sacrifices to see the stature, which India enjoys today in the world order,” Shah said in his address on the occasion in presence of a large number of youth.
Shah said under the leadership of PM Modi, a self reliant India is being created, which takes pride in its past and is not only confident about the future, but the outline of the future is clear among the youth of the country.
“If the feeling of patriotism is awakened in the mind of every youth of the country, then it becomes a great force for the nation, which gives new energy and momentum to the development of the nation,” Shah said as he outlined three key factors behind the idea of the “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsava” to be celebrated from 75th year of the Independence to its 100th year in 2047.
Shah also paid rich tributes to Pingali Venkayya, who designed the tricolour, saying that the freedom fighter worked silently and selflessly following the principles of Gandhiji and Lokmanya Tilak.
“Pingali Venkayya ji worked to unite the whole of India in the thread of unity by merging the hopes, aspirations and their faith in three colours of crores of Indians. On behalf of the entire grateful nation, I bow to him,” the home minister said.
Exhorting the youth of the country to take part in the campaign with enthusiasm, Shah said, “I want to tell the youth of the country that Har Ghar Tiranga campaign is your campaign. This is the campaign to once again launch the creation of a great India. Join this campaign and hoist the tricolour at your home and take a selfie with it and upload it on www.harghartiranga.com."
He said that the vision behind the celebration is to pay homage to lakhs of the freedom fighters, who sacrificed their lives fighting against the British, to ensure that the welfare schemes reach out to the masses and also to lead the country toward holistic development and make it the most developed in the next 25 years.
Shah referred to a few opposition parties questioning the tricolour campaign saying that a few people questioned the campaign but he will not respond to them. “Instead of responding to those questioning the campaign, I urge people of the country to visualise the grandeur of the scene when 20 crore households will unfurl the tricolour together,” the home minister said.
He said “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign is a message to the whole world that every citizen of India is working unitedly to further the prosperity, security and culture of India as per the imagination and aspirations of the country’s Constitution makers.
“By taking the oath of this tricolour, the jawan of the country surrenders everything on the border. Seeing this tricolour, crores of farmers of the country make effort to fill the stomach of the whole world. It is the tricolour that has been established in the hearts of the countrymen as a symbol of the country,” Shah said.
