The durability test report for the Nothing Phone (1), one of the most talked-about smartphones of 2022, is now available.Nothing Phone (1) was released last month with an appealing design and notable hardware.
Nonetheless, several people have queried the durability of the smartphone. So, answering those queries, famous YouTuber JerryRigEverything conducted a durability test on Nothing Phone (1).
Notably, the YouTuber is famous for his teardown videos and durability tests. JerryRigEverything conducted many types of tests on the Nothing Phone (1) to test its durability.
For the scratch test, the smartphone performed on par with other phones these days at level 5 and above.
However, the display panel and the sides of the smartphone received scratches quickly.
The Gorilla Glass of Nothing phone (1) ensured that pointy objects like keys would not be able to make scratches or damage the phone. But the smartphone's durability was tested mainly by the bend tests.
Nothing Phone (1) survived the rear and front bends without any damage, although some creaking noise could be heard in the YouTuber's video. The smartphone has an aluminum-made frame, which is better than plastic but is not a very hard metal.
The most striking ability of Nothing Phone (1) in the test was that it did not break even when the YouTuber folded it forcibly. It did bend a little but did not break, which many smartphones would suffer if folded forcibly.
Interestingly, the OnePlus 10 Pro had almost broken into two when the YouTuber ran this bend test. This premium mid-range smartphone has good build quality. Overall, the smartphone was able to pass the bend test. However, Nothing Phone (1) could not perform better in the test for reparability. It could score only 3 out of 10 on the test. The reparability test score was given on several parameters like parts availability, time taken to repair, and battery and screen replacement.
