Fans complained that Godzilla lacks kaiju action and while Godzilla: The king of the Monsters delivers more kaiju action. Its narrative suffers as a result.

Even though Godzilla vs. Kong wasn't a masterpiece, it seemed to strike the right balance between what moviegoers wanted from this MonsterVerse, thus welcoming a new era for the top-rated franchise.

Currently, Apple TV+ is developing a TV series, and Adam Wingard, the director of Godzilla vs. Kong, is working hard on a sequel to this much-loved movie.

Although shooting has just begun, there are several intriguing elements in this apparent working title, even though there is not much information to share.

The film's set features a clapboard simply reading "Origins," leading to further speculation regarding the storyline.

It is, however, anticipated that Godzilla will not make an appearance in this sequel. The storyline will probably take fans into the future and focus on Son of Kong.

There is also a chance that we may travel back in time to learn more about Skull Island's origins, which would be an excellent fit for the "Origins" tag. So far, there hasn't appeared to be any chance of a Godzilla vs. Kong rematch. Even though it's inevitable, expanding this franchise before then makes perfect sense.

For the fans of MonsterVerse, this is all indeed very exciting.

Kaiju can go in many directions, but given the success of Kong: Skull Island, focusing on that character is a good move that the fans appreciated and enjoyed.

The sequel of Godzilla vs. Kong, which is currently untitled, is scheduled to be released on 15th March 2024.
