Assault case: KSOU VC named in FIR

Mysuru: Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) vice-chancellor S Vidyashankar has been named in an First Information Report (FIR) following a complaint of assault by KSOU assistant registrar (examination) Pradeep Giri on Tuesday.
Police Commissioner Chandragupta confirmed to TOI that a complaint has been filed against the vice-chancellor by one of the university employees and it is being investigated. Jayalakshmipuram police are probing the case.
Giri told TOI that he was assaulted by Vidyashankar and his personal assistant Devaraj over a trivial issue at the KSOU campus.
The varsity authorities have approached police with a counter complaint accusing Giri of trying to assault the vice-chancellor . Vidyashankar didn’t respond to calls.
