2 arrested for assaulting cop

Kota: Two days after a cop was assaulted by bajri mafia in Chechat police station area, the joint team of police, revenue and mining department on Tuesday seized 500 tonne illegal stock of bajri from two villages in the area. Meanwhile, police arrested two accused in connection with assault over a police constable on Saturday night while two others in the case are yet to be nabbed. Besides, constable Ramchandra Rao (30), who sustained injuries and fracture in arm, was on Tuesday discharged from hospital for rest at home.
Illegal liquor worth ₹80 lakh seized
Kherwara police on Monday night caught a container on NH-48 and seized illegal liquor worth Rs 80 lakh which was being transported to Gujarat. Police arrested the driver and cleaner of the container. Acting on a tip-off, Kherwara police stopped the truck at Banjaria on NH-48. On checking the truck, cartons of various brands of Haryana-made liquor were found. The truck was confiscated and brought to the police station. Further investigation is on.
