Stock market update: Power stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading lower on Wednesday at 10:19AM

GE Power India Limited(up 6.05%), Transformers and Rectifiers(India)(up 4.53%), Indo Tech Transformers(up 1.99%), Indowind Energy(up 1.78%), Adani Transmissions(up 1.52%), Inox wind(up 1.48%), Jyoti Structures(up 1.27%), DPSC(up 1.15%), Alstom T&D India(up 1.11%) and KEC International(up 0.57%) were among the top gainers.

Orient Green Power Company(down 4.72%), Jaiprakash Power Ventures(down 2.78%), RTNPOWER(down 2.56%), Hitachi Energy India(down 2.38%), Suzlon Energy(down 2.07%), NLC India(down 1.95%), Reliance Power(down 1.88%), JSW Energy(down 1.87%), ADANIGREEN(down 1.84%) and Gujarat Industries Power(down 1.58%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 56.6 points down at 17288.85, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 128.61 points at 58007.75 at around 10:19AM.

Cipla(up 1.67%), Tech Mahindra(up 1.19%), HCL Technologies(up 0.94%), Wipro(up 0.79%), Infosys(up 0.77%), Tata Consultancy(up 0.64%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 0.52%), Hindustan Unilever(up 0.23%), Shree Cement(up 0.21%) and JSW Steel(up 0.2%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Coal India(down 2.6%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 2.05%), Maruti Suzuki(down 1.55%), Tata Motors(down 1.53%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 1.5%), ITC(down 1.4%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 1.2%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 1.17%), Britannia Industries(down 1.15%) and IndusInd Bank(down 1.04%) were trading in the red.
