Cop kills self in Chennai’s Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium

CHENNAI: An armed reserve police constable shot himself dead in Chennai’s Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium on Wednesday.
Preliminary inquiries revealed that constable Senthil Kumar killed himself due to family issues.
Senthil Kumar was on guard duty in the stadium where the valedictory function of the 44th Chess Olympiad is scheduled to be held on August 10.
The Periamet police registered a case and sent the body to the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital for postmortem.
Senthil Kumar was staying in the police barracks in Egmore with his colleagues.
