Bhubaneswar: The skill development and technical education (SDTE) department is analysing the reasons for the poor show of the state’s technical institutes in the National Institute Rating Framework (NIRF) ranking.
“The department will introduce mentor institutes to help improve the rankings of those that fared poorly in the NIRF ranking,” said SDTE secretary Hemant Sharma.
Among the state-run technical institutes, Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology, Burla, ranked 111 in engineering category of the NIRF ranking, while five private technical institutes featured in the top 100.
“We are examining where our institutes failed. The department has planned to introduce mentor institutes for this purpose,” Sharma added.
