JAMMU: Alert BSF troops opened fire at a suspected drone near the international border in J&K’s Kanachak sector on Sunday night.
BSF DIG S P S Sandhu said the troops fired at an unidentified flying object with blinking lights as it tried to cross the international border around 9.30pm. “Hectic search operation is in progress with the help of police and other agencies,” he added.
Earlier on July 23, BSF troops had fired at a Pakistani drone spotted in the same sector and forced it to return. On July 16 and July 6, too, drone activity was spotted close to the LoC and international border in Poonch and Samba districts. On July 4, villagers in Rajpura area along the Indo-Pak border in Samba district had reported having spotted a Pakistani drone.
