Commonwealth Games 2022 Live Updates, Day 6 Schedule of India (August 3):  Lovepreet Singh won a bronze in men’s 109 kg to continue India’s medal rush in weightlifting at the Commonwealth Games on Wednesday. The 24-year-old from Punjab lifted a total of 355 kg, including a new national record of 192 kg in clean and jerk, to finish third on the podium. He lifted 163kg in snatch. Further, breaking a long-standing jinx, Saurav Ghosal on Wednesday claimed India’s first ever singles medal in squash — a bronze.

Meanwhile, Harmanpreet Singh and Akashdeep Singh scored a brace each as the Indian men’s hockey team produced a completely dominating performance to rout Canada 8-0.

However, Indian weightlifter Purnima Pandey finished a disappointing sixth in the women’s +87kg event. Upcoming events where India will be participating include Boxing, Cricket, and the Women’s Shot Put final also in line. Follow all CWG 2022 live updates below:

A gold medal miss rubbed into their face by a wildly celebrating Malaysian team might just prove a trigger for renewed focus for four of India’s Thomas Cup winning heroes, who were humbled 3-1 going down at the National Exhibition Centre Arena in Tuesday’s CWG Mixed Team final.
