Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 0.59% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded positive around 11:20AM(IST)on Wednesday in a weak market.

Larsen & Toubro Infotech(up 2.05 per cent), Mindtree(up 1.74 per cent), MPhasis(up 1.37 per cent), Coforge(up 0.71 per cent) and Tech Mahindra(up 0.55 per cent) were among the top gainers.

L&T Technology(down 0.27 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty IT index was up 0.59 per cent at 29195.9 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 113.25 points at 17232.2, while the BSE Sensex was down 324.82 points at 57811.54.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 11 were trading in the green, while 39 were in the red.

Shares of Zomato Ltd., , , and were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of , , ., and Party Cruisers Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while , SKP Bearing Industries Ltd., Melstar Info, and hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
