Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.26% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded negative around 11:00AM(IST)on Monday in an upbeat market.

Natco Pharma(up 2.79 per cent), Cipla(up 2.48 per cent), Strides Pharma Science(up 1.98 per cent), Pfizer(up 1.13 per cent) and Abbott India(up 1.05 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 2.97 per cent), Lupin(down 0.93 per cent), Alkem Laboratories(down 0.5 per cent), Gland Pharma(down 0.42 per cent) and Laurus(down 0.24 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was down 0.26 per cent at 12743.3 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 114.85 points at 17273.1, while the BSE Sensex was up 378.36 points at 57948.61.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 35 were trading in the green, while 15 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, , Tata Steel, Zomato Ltd. and were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of , , Metro Brands Ltd., and hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Ltd., Bombay Rayon, Birla Tyres, and hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
