There is no doubt that India is a fascinating country. Be it the geographical diversity, beautiful culture or rich heritage, India has got them all and how! Highest post office in the world
A post office is the last place one would want a selfie with, but not our Hikkim post office. It serves as the world’s highest post office. Hikkim Post Office is located in Hikkim village in Spiti Valley, Himachal Pradesh. It stands at a height of 14,567 ft above sea level! It draws a large number of tourists for, you guessed it right, selfies with the world’s highest post office. Don’t forget to send a postcard to your loved ones from the highest post office in the world.

First floating library in India
Known as the Young Readers’ Boat Library, meet India’s first boat library! This unique library is an initiative of West Bengal Transport Corporation, and is located in Hooghly River in Kolkata. The library has a collection of over 500 books in three languages – English, Hindi and Bengali, curated by the Oxford Book Store, and the books are of different genres too. Floating village in India
This one is surrounded by records. Champu Khangpok in Manipur is a floating village, located on the largest freshwater lake in northeast India, right next to Keibul Lamjao world’s only floating national park. When the whole world grappled with COVID-19 pandemic, Champu Khangpok remained untouched by COVID-19. It’s just amazing to know that an entire village rests on floating biomass, called phumdis.

World’s highest motorable road
Located at a whopping 19,000 ft above sea level in Umling La in Ladakh, Chisum-Demchok road is the world’s highest motorable road. The road made it to the Guinness World Record. Located in the eastern part of Ladakh, the 52 KM Chisum-Demchok road is a black-topped road that connects many remote villages with the rest of the country. The road is way above Siachen Glacier, which stands at 17,700 ft.

First sunrise in India
Dong village in Arunachal Pradesh is the easternmost village in India, which also means it is the first place to witness sunrise in the country. And, by first sunrise we mean 4:30 AM on average. Dong has recorded sunrise as early as 4:15 AM too. If you think getting up in the morning is a chore, Dong’s going to be a life-changing experience for you. Here, the sun sets by 5 PM.

Smallest state in India
Goa, with a total area of 3,702 sq km, is the smallest state in India by area. Like they say, size does not matter, even though the smallest state, Goa is one of the most popular places in India when it comes to tourism.

Largest state in India
Rajasthan, with a total area of 342,239 sq km, is the largest state in India by area. The state covers 10.4% of India’s total area. The magnificent state of Jaipur is the capital, and also the largest city in the state. Rajasthan has, in total, 33 districts with Jaisalmer as the largest among them and Dholpur, the smallest.

Highest rail bridge in the world
Standing 30 m taller than the Eiffel Tower, with a total of 359 m, is the Chenab Railway bridge, the highest rail bridge in the world. Chenab bridge is an arch bridge built over Chenab river in the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. The bridge connects Bakkal and Kauri and has a total length of 1,315 m.
