Getty ImagesNEW DELHI: A number of stocks surged as much as 5% or more in Monday's trade on Dalal Street as benchmark Sensex traded 302.95 points up at 57873.20 level on account of buying in frontline bluechip counters.
Among these top gainers were Virtual Global Education Ltd.-Deleted(up 9.62%), TN Newsprint(up 9.19%), TPL Plastech(up 8.91%), Cinevista Ltd(up 7.09%), Ruchira Papers(up 6.81%), Sarthak Metals(up 6.4%), Shreyans Ind(up 5.94%), Bajaj Hindusthan Su(up 5.43%), Tata Metaliks(up 5.17%) and B2B Software(up 5.0%).
In the Nifty 50 index, the top gainers included M&M(up 6.48%), Tata Motors(up 3.68%), Maruti Suzuki(up 3.20%), Cipla(up 3.07%) and Hero MotoCorp(up 2.48%).
The Nifty 50 index was trading 104.8 points higher at 17263.05.
Among the 50 components in the Nifty pack, 37 shares traded in the green, while 13 traded in the red.
