Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading higher on Monday at 11:15AM

20 Microns(up 14.76%), Oriental Trimex(up 8.75%), Lexus Granito(up 4.76%), Pokarna(up 4.68%), Ashapura Minechem(up 4.25%), Dvpt Corporation(up 2.39%), KIOCL(up 1.10%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(up 1.09%), Madhav Marbles and Granites(up 0.75%) and MOIL(up 0.54%) were among the top gainers.

Aro Granite Industries(down 2.48%), Coal India(down 0.52%) and NMDC Ltd(down 0.32%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 109.6 points up at 17267.85, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 357.47 points at 57927.72 at around 11:15AM.

Mahindra & Mahindra(up 6.85%), Tata Motors(up 4.14%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 3.48%), Hindalco Industries(up 2.23%), Cipla(up 2.23%), Reliance Industries(up 2.2%), Maruti Suzuki(up 1.81%), Bharti Airtel(up 1.73%), UPL Ltd(up 1.39%) and Power Grid Corporation of India(up 1.33%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 3.42%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(down 1.22%), Britannia Industries(down 1.18%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 1.17%), IndusInd Bank(down 1.07%), Hindustan Unilever(down 0.98%), Bajaj Finserv(down 0.58%), NTPC(down 0.56%), Coal India(down 0.52%) and Larsen & Toubro(down 0.38%) were trading in the red.
