The NSE Nifty index closed 181.8 points up at 17340.05, while BSE Sensex ended up 545.25 points at 58115.5.
On the other hand, .(down 2.60 per cent), .(down 1.70 per cent), .(down 1.68 per cent), .(down 1.15 per cent) and Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.95 per cent) were among the top losers of the day.
