Actress Arpita Mukherjee is in the news for her alleged role in the SSC scam in West Bengal involving minister Partha Chatterjee. Almost 50 crore in cash, six kilograms of gold along with 22 mobiles were seized by ED from the actress' house. The actress, who is currently in ED's custody, had once denied the government job offered after her father's demise. Arpita got married to a businessman but within a few months of marriage, she left her husband and headed to the world of showbiz. After doing some modeling assignments, Arpita got her big break in 2008 when she made her debut in the Bengali film, 'Partner.' Post this there was no look-back moment for her. Apart from Bengali, she also featured in Oria films. Arpita's friendship grew with Partha Chatterjee in 2010 and he made her the face of promotional campaigns for his Durga Puja committee.
