15k students admitted in commerce courses in two rounds

At the end of the second round of admissions in Gujarat University affiliated commerce colleges, around 15,000 students have confirmed their admissions. In the second round 1,333 students have confirmed their admissions while in the first round 13,500 students confirmed their admissions. There are around 38,350 seats of bachelors in commerce, BBA and BCA available in 100 GU affiliated colleges.

As half of the available seats are still vacant, the university has announced a third round of admissions.
Sources in the GU said that students admitted include 6,525 general category students, 1,475 students from EWS category, 1,605 students in SC and 236 in ST categories. The remaining 5,187 students in socially and economically backward classes category.

In the third round, students from CBSE and other boards as well as other students will be able to register themselves. Sources said that the last date of application will be July 31 and after that the students will have to verify their documents till August 1.


The university will announce a provisional merit list on August 4 and allow the students to make corrections in their registrations on August 5 and 6. Students will have to confirm their admissions by paying tuition fees at the colleges they have been allotted.
