Fatima Convent, Nurture School win chess tournament

Kanpur: Fatima Convent and Nurture International School won the senior and junior girls championship, respectively of the Kanpur Sahodaya Chess Tournament which concluded here at DPS Azad Nagar School on Friday.
There was a tough competition in senior group as top four teams Fatima Convent, Allen House Public School, Nurture International school and Delhi Public school scored 8 points after fifth and final round. Fatima won four games and lost one while other three won 3 games and shared points in two games. But in bokol points Fatima collected the highest 15.5 points and emerged as champion.
Allen House Public School stood as runner up with 15 points while Nurture International and Delhi Public School Azad Nagar got 14.5 and 13 points and stood at third and fourth places, respectively.
There was a tie between Nurture International School and Shree Sanatan Dharam School in the junior group for top place with both having 9 points. But in bokol points, Nurture School got 16 points and was declared as winner. Shree Sanatan Dharam school got 15.5 points and got second place followed by UP Kirana Seva Samiti at third place with 8 points.
After the final round chief guest, founder of DPS Azad Nagar Alok Mishra gave away trophies and medals to winners. Puneeta Kapoor principal DPS School gave vote of thanks. tnn
