Jaipur: Even after four days since Border Security Force (BSF) head constable Shishupal Bagadia and BSF jawan Sanwala Ram Vishnoi died in Congo, their families in Sikar and Barmer, respectively, are yet to get their mortal remains.
Bagadia and Vishnoi died while serving in a UN peacekeeping mission in Congo on Tuesday after being shot during violent protests.
Bagadia’s son Prashant took to Twitter to seek an update on when the mortal remains will reach India and further in the native village.
He tagged PM
Narendra Modi, defence minister Rajnath Singh and BSF in the tweet, seeking their intervention for early transport of his father’s mortal remains.
“There has been no communication from their side yet. Is this the way we treat our martyrs? I hope the government brings us my father’s mortal remains early and with respect,” Prashant told TOI.
In Bagadiya Ka Bas in Sikar, the native village of Bagadia, his brothers, sisters and parents are waiting for his mortal remains.
“We are in touch with the authorities for updates. His mortal remains have been transported from Congo to Yuganda already. They say it is likely to arrive in Delhi tomorrow,” said Shishupal’s elder brother Madan Singh, who is a deputy commandant with BSF.
Shishupal’s brother-in-law Mahipal said, “We live in Rajasthan, and we have various cabinet ministers and a government. But none of them has so far has enquired and has come to help us. At least they can pursue the matter of expediting the arrival of the mortal remains and can coordinate with the government of India.”
The family of slain BSF jawan Sanwala Ram Vishnoi is also waiting for his mortal remains at Band village under Gudamalani police station in Barmer district.
The family homes of both the martyrs are witnessing a large number of visitors wishing to pay their last respects to them.
