Jaipur: For the first time, Rajasthan High Court would hold a full bench and administrative committee meeting not at its bench in Jaipur or at its principal seat in
Jodhpur but in the state’s rural area on Saturday.
The full bench would be held at Mandawa in Jhunjhunu district to have a first-hand account of court functioning in rural set-ups. It is being organised at the initiative of the Chief Justice of Rajasthan, S S Shinde, who would retire on August 1.
Sources said the meeting of the full bench of the high court will begin at Mandawa on Saturday at 10.30am. It will be followed by a meeting of the administrative committee. An agenda for the meeting is being prepared but has not been made public. The meeting is expected to discuss the infrastructure facilities at the subordinate courts and how to reduce the huge pendency of cases and other administrative issues. The court has been focusing on the disposal of cases. The Chief Justice has directed to dispose of cases pending more than 30 years after taking over about a month ago and special drives have been conducted to reduce pendency. tnn
