VARANASI: Banaras Hindu University vice-chancellor Prof Sudhir K Jain on Thursday interacted with the principals and faculty members of the colleges affiliated to the university where he called upon them to develop a new way of thinking and be innovative in the interest of students.
The interaction meeting was attended by the principals and teachers of Arya Mahila PG College, DAV PG College, Vasanta College and Vasanta Kanya Mahavidyalaya. “As times change so do the teaching and learning practices and trends. Hence, as teachers and institutions tasked with holistic development of students, we must be innovative and creative to benefit students,” said the VC, adding, “We must not forget that as teachers we are here for students.”
Prof.Jain urged the faculty members that the successes of students must be celebrated and taken to other students so that they also feel motivated and encouraged. “We are duty bound to make our students aspirational for growing in life and career,” added Prof Jain.
The VC enquired about the challenges colleges face and sought suggestions in addressing those challenges. He said, “While taking admission in colleges or universities the biggest concern students and their parents have is whether they would get quality education or not, which is the key in paving the way to a brighter future.”
The VC also stressed on strengthening the connection with alumni. The principals and teachers invited the VC to interact with students in their respective colleges.
Registrar Prof. AK Singh, controller of examinations Prof SK Upadhyaya, finance officer Dr Abhay Thakur and deputy registrar academic Dr Pushyamitra Dwivedi were also present during the interaction programme.
