Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.25%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a positive note on Thursday.

Shares of Laurus(up 3.57 per cent), Gland Pharma(up 1.99 per cent), Alkem Laboratories(up 1.44 per cent), Divis Laboratories(up 1.32 per cent) and Pfizer(up 0.59 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Biocon(down 4.21 per cent), Granules India(down 1.09 per cent), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 1.08 per cent), Strides Pharma Science(down 0.89 per cent) and Alembic Pharmaceuticals(down 0.58 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.25 per cent up at 12660.65.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 287.8 points at 16929.6, while the BSE Sensex stood up 1041.47 points at 56857.79.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 39 ended in the green, while 11 closed in the red.

Shares of Zomato Ltd., , YES Bank, and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of , Campus Activewear Ltd., Fidel ., and . hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while , , Spicejet, and hit their fresh 52-week lows.
