Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.47%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a positive note on Thursday.

Shares of Bharat Forge(up 1.97 per cent), MRF(up 1.97 per cent), Bosch(up 1.81 per cent), TVS Motor Company(up 1.55 per cent) and Sona BLW Precision Forgings(up 1.41 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Ashok Leyland(down 2.0 per cent) and TIINDIA(down 0.57 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty Auto index closed 0.47 per cent up at 12383.7.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 287.8 points at 16929.6, while the BSE Sensex stood up 1041.47 points at 56857.79.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 39 ended in the green, while 11 closed in the red.

Shares of Zomato Ltd., , , and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of , Campus Activewear Ltd., Fidel ., and . hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while , , , and hit their fresh 52-week lows.
