Fulfilment platform operator ShipBob has appointed Guillaume 'G' Deront to the role of general manager of Australia, with additional responsibility for New Zealand.

"Having Deront leading the ShipBob charge in Australia is very exciting for our company," said ShipBob president and co-founder Divey Gulati.

"Australia is a key global market for ShipBob, and we're thrilled to have Deront and his many years of leadership and experience front and centre with us, especially as ShipBob experiences growth throughout Australia. With Deront's help, we are excited to help Australian brands to scale locally and globally with our fulfilment network and capabilities."

Deront joins ShipBob from Shippit, where he was head of sales.

He was previously ANZ managing director at Gleam Futures, Australian partnerships lead at YouTube, Australian large customer sales account lead at Google, and an account executive at both NetNames France and Spire Vision.

Earlier in his career Deront worked as a market analyst at Hub télécom and BearingPoint.

He holds a masters degree in international business from Skema Business School.

"Australia is a breeding ground for successful ecommerce brands, and ShipBob is uniquely positioned to help businesses expand their footprint across various sales channels and geographies," said Deront.

"As more and more Australian and New Zealand brands look to reach a global customer base, ShipBob's offering of best-in-class fulfilment services and its logistics platform in Australia continues to set an industry standard, and I'm excited to be a part of it. I can't wait to build the future success of the Australian ShipBob office."

The ShipBob platform integrates with ecommerce tools including Shopify, BigCommerce, Amazon, Klaviyo and Gorgias.
