Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading higher on Thursday at 09:59AM

Ashapura Minechem(up 2.76%), Aro Granite Industries(up 2.19%), Pokarna(up 1.63%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(up 0.78%), 20 Microns(up 0.54%), KIOCL(up 0.50%), NMDC Ltd(up 0.38%) and MOIL(up 0.32%) were among the top gainers.

Oriental Trimex(down 0.76%), Coal India(down 0.61%), Madhav Marbles and Granites(down 0.22%) and Dvpt Corporation(down 0.22%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 141.8 points up at 16783.6, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 549.77 points at 56366.09 at around 09:59AM.

Bajaj Finance(up 8.36%), Bajaj Finserv(up 7.03%), IndusInd Bank(up 2.66%), Tech Mahindra(up 1.93%), Tata Steel(up 1.83%), Wipro(up 1.81%), Infosys(up 1.74%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 1.62%), HCL Technologies(up 1.35%) and Shree Cement(up 1.29%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 1.42%), Tata Motors(down 1.35%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 0.8%), Bharti Airtel(down 0.77%), Cipla(down 0.66%), Coal India(down 0.61%), UltraTech Cement(down 0.47%), Hindalco Industries(down 0.42%), Eicher Motors(down 0.37%) and ITC(down 0.36%) were trading in the red.
