CHSE Odisha Exam Results: Plus II science pass percentage 94.12, commerce pass percentage 89.20

It was revealed from the statistics shared by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), which conducts the annual higher secondary (Plus II) examinations and publishes its results too. School and mass education minister Samir Ranjan Dash here on Wednesday announced the results of Plus II science and commerce streams.
Firstly, actual marks obtained by the candidate in the annual board examination conducted by the CHSE between April 28 and May 31. And secondly, 80 percent of the marks of annual board examination and 20 percent of the marks based on the best two performances of the candidate out of three quarter-end examinations of Plus II.
Candidates have been awarded higher of the two marks calculated paper wise in the above two manners, said the CHSE official sources.
Like the previous years, girls did well in both the examinations compared to boys. In science stream, girls' pass percentage is 94.52 against boys' percentage of 93.8. In commerce stream, the pass percentage of girls is 90.71 against boys' pass percentage of 88.32.
In science stream, 76,604 students including 2833 ex-regular from 1,049 higher secondary schools (HSSs) had appeared for the examination this year. A total of 72,106 students including 1188 ex-regular have passed the examination. As many as 1124 students secured marks above 90 percent against last year’s 2278. In this stream, 50,157 students got first division and 14,932 secured second division.
Pass percentage of Nayagarh district in science stream was the highest in the state (99.11). Phulbani district's pass percentage was 76.81 (the lowest in the state). A total of 393 higher secondary schools recorded 100 percent results in science stream.
In commerce stream, A total of 23,726 students including 850 ex-regular and correspondence from 409 HSSs had appeared for the Plus II commerce examination this year. Out of which, 21,165 including 295 ex-regular and correspondence students passed the examination. As many as 273 students got above 90 percent marks. A total of 10,863 students secured first division and 5,053 students got second division.
Pass percentage of Boudh district was 100 in commerce, while Deogarh registered a pass percentage of 61.53 (the lowest in the state). In this stream, 134 HSSs registered 100 percent results.
“We have not withheld the results of any student this year. Not a single HSS reported zero result this time in both the streams. Results of Plus-II Arts stream and Vocational courses will be announced on August 8,” said the minister.
