VARANASI: A team of customs seized 530 grams of 99.50% pure foreign origin
gold from a passenger at Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Varanasi in UP.
The passenger had arrived from Sharjah and had kept the gold in the form of brown paste in two black plastic pouches.
The plastic pouches were recovered during a personal search of the passenger, ANI reported.
The man had concealed the gold worth Rs 27,33,105 by pasting them with each of the soles of his feet and wore socks to conceal those plastic pouches.
Further investigation and proceedings of arrest for production before Special CJM (Economic Offences) are under progress.
