JAIPUR: A team of
Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested the Licensing Officer and Regional Labour Commissioner (Central), Jaipur for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 25,000 in lieu of issuing a labour license.
According to an official release by the CBI on Tuesday, the accused identified as Giriraj Verma was arrested on Monday for accepting the bribe.
“A case has been registered against him for allegedly demanding undue advantage of Rs 50,000 from the proprietor of a private firm based at Jaipur in lieu of issuing Labour License. The said firm is engaged in the business of providing labour and employees to private banks on contractual basis,” said RC Joshi, Spokesperson, CBI, New Delhi.
CBI laid a trap and caught the accused red handed while accepting the bribe from the Complainant. Searches were conducted at the premises of the accused which led to the recovery of incriminating documents.
