Techie says Mumbai man stalking her, cops probe

PUNE: The Hinjewadi police are investigating a complaint by a software engineer, accusing a man from Mumbai of stalking her for three months and sending threatening messages. The engineer lodged a police complaint on Monday after she received one such message from the alleged stalker.
An officer from the Hinjewadi police told TOI that the man was allegedly stalking her since she was living in Dombivali in Thane district. "He had collected her details and used to contact her on her cellphone number," the officer said.
The complainant also stated that the man also used to contact her office when she was working in IT companies in Hinjewadi and Kharadi. "He used to give misleading information about the woman to her colleagues in these companies," the officer added.
The woman stated that when she stopped responding, the man started sending messages to her UPI account. "Recently, when he threatened to kill the victim, she approached us and filed the complaint," said the officer.
