Trinamool Congress MP Santanu Sen claimed that no one in West Bengal will even believe what Mithun Chakraborty is saying. This comes after Mithun Chakraborty alleged that over three dozen Bengal MLAs from the Trinamool Congress are in contact with the BJP.

“Had heard that he was hospitalised, I think it was a mental illness not physical. No one in Bengal will even believe what he is trying to say,” TMC MP Santanu Sen said.

Earlier, Mithun Chakraborty had hinted at trouble within the Trinamool Congress.

“Let me give you all the breaking news. At this moment, 38 TMC MLAs are in touch with the BJP and of them, 21 are in direct touch with me. A Maharashtra-like situation could happen any day. It could happen tomorrow as well,” the actor said," actor and BJP leader Mithun Chakraborty said on Wednesday.

Mithun Chakraborty was inducted into the BJP last year ahead of the West Bengal Assembly polls.

When asked about the recent arrest of Bengal minister Partha Chatterjee in connection with the teacher recruitment scam, Mithun Chakraborty said, “If there is no evidence, he has no reason to fear. But if he has done something wrong, no power in the world can save him,” he said.
